Steps

Path To Owning A Chipmunks Franchise

1. Expression of Interest
If you’d like to know more about becoming a Franchisee with Chipmunks, we’d love to hear from you. Fill in your details at the bottom of the page and we’ll be in touch with our information pack.
2. Information Pack

Next we’ll email you our information pack consisting of links to our Franchise Prospectus, Confidentiality Agreement and Franchise Application Forms.
Note: There is no obligation to invest at this point. The information you provide us is strictly confidential and used as a preliminary assessment.

3. Assessment of Application
We’ll review the information you’ve provided us in your Franchise Application form to assess your financial suitability and fit with our brand. If we find your application unsuitable, we will email to let you know.
4. Call with a Chipmunks Representative
For suitable applicants, we’ll arrange a call to chat about your Chipmunks Playland & Cafe interest. This is an opportunity for us to explore your personal and professional needs, discover your skills and experiences, as well as answer any questions you may have.
5. Initial Territory Analysis

After discussing your preferred territory, we will do an initial analysis to asses a building you may be looking at or try and find a suitable building through one of our contacts. We have relationships with some larger commercial property developers who introduce us to great sites available for a Chipmunks Playland & Cafe store.

6. Discovery Day
It’s important that the ‘fit’ is right for both of us. You’ll want to know exactly what Chipmunks can offer you, and that you will be supported in operating a successful business. Similarly, we want to ensure that prospective franchisees have what it takes to succeed and add value to our brand. We welcome you to join us for an informal day long introduction where you’ll have a full tour of a Chipmunks store, lunch at Charlie’s Cafe or a local eatery, and then back to the Office for a full overview of our business, our team, systems and support.
7. Award Letter

If we’re all happy moving forward following the Discovery Day, you will be awarded a Chipmunks Playland & Cafe franchise territory. We’ll also call you to discuss the next steps and any questions you may have.

8. Make Deposit

An Authority to Proceed document will be issued and you will be asked to make payment of your refundable deposit.
Note: Deposit amount is refundable minus any design or legal costs incurred.

9. Legal Review
Upon receipt of your deposit, we’ll send you an Instruction Sheet to review and complete which is required to draft your Franchise Agreement.
10. Franchise Agreement
Almost there! The Franchise Agreement will be drafted by our lawyers, confirmed by you and your lawyer, and ready to sign. Once this is signed, you’ll be invoiced for the first half of the franchise fee (minus deposit amount).
11. Sign Your Lease

After helping you to secure a great site and negotiate a favourable lease. You will sign your lease and get started with the on-boarding and opening process. You will also be invoiced for the second half of your franchise fee at this stage.

12. Store Fitout

This is where you see your playland come to life. The store fit-out process takes approximately 2 to 3 months from when the landlord works have been completed.
During this time you will visit another Chipmunks store for some hands on experience. We’ll work with you to plan for a successful launch.

13. Grand Opening
This is where the fun begins! Our marketing team will initiate an impressive pre-launch marketing plan to capture and boost your customer base. Our dedicated Operations team will be there to ensure that you are well-equipped and trained as you begin your new business. You’ll be on your way to building a significant income and business asset.
